Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate site log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause servers and analytics tools to receive routine technical visit details:
- Page-view timestamps and time spent on a page
- Device type and operating system
- The referring website, when available
- Browser type and version
- Pages requested during the visit
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic patterns, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that activity into reports. A browser can block cookies, though disabling them may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Finding and repairing performance or technical problems
- Routing a search request to the selected outside provider
- Operating and maintaining the website
- Measuring which reference pages are useful
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Perry County Criminal History does not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Perry County courts and prison, Pennsylvania State Police repository, and PSP Megan's Law Public Website. Public agencies apply the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. §§ 67.101 to 67.3104, while 18 Pa.C.S. § 9121 governs criminal-history dissemination. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure practices govern information entered there. We cannot control those choices, so review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Perry County offices, Pennsylvania agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites for targeted advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring site traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
- Advertising networks serving page ads
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information we handle. No internet service is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be deleted after notice and verification.
Your Data Rights
Pennsylvania's Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, 73 P.S. §§ 201-1 to 201-9.3, may apply alongside other law depending on the facts and a visitor's location. Available requests may include:
- Opting out of certain processing where law provides that choice
- Requesting correction of inaccurate personal information
- Asking what personal information is held
- Seeking deletion where a legal right applies
